I Want to Help

Volunteer & Pace

Dave Beeksma showed up for runners every single day. The easiest way to honor him is to show up for someone else — at a race, on a group run, or beside a beginner taking their first steps.

This is a dream of Dave's, and we're working to fulfill it. This volunteer program isn't up and running yet. Reach out below and we'll follow up personally as we build it out.

Ways you'll be able to volunteer

Race Day Volunteer

Help with check-in, water stations, course marshaling, and finish-line celebrations at local races.

  • Morning or afternoon shifts
  • No running required
  • Great for groups

Group Run Pacer

Lead or sweep a weekly group run. Set a welcoming pace and make sure no one runs alone.

  • One run per week or month
  • All paces welcome
  • Training provided

Youth Mentor

Support young runners at practices, camps, or meets. Encourage effort, consistency, and good sportsmanship.

  • Background check required
  • Seasonal or year-round
  • No elite experience needed

Community Ambassador

Spread the word, coordinate local gear drives, and connect us with clubs, schools, and charities near you.

  • Flexible hours
  • Local networking
  • Help shape your city's Beeksma events

Opportunities we're planning

Weekly Community Run

A regular group run for all paces, all faces — once we have it scheduled.

Race-Day Water Stations

Cheering on and hydrating finishers at local races we partner with.

Youth Cross Country Camp

A week of mentorship, running, games, and growth for young athletes.
