I Want to Help
Gear Donation
Every pair of running shoes has more miles left in it than you'd think. In Dave's spirit of paying it forward, here's where your old shoes and gear can keep someone else moving.
Give it a second life
Real programs already recycling, reusing, and paying forward running shoes and gear, close to home and around the world.
Material Recycling
Nike Grind
Drop off worn-out athletic shoes of any brand at Nike Factory and select Nike stores. They're ground down into material used for running tracks, turf fields, and playground surfaces.
GotSneakers
Request a free shipping kit, fill it with old sneakers, and send it back at no cost. Pairs with life left are resold at low cost in developing markets; the rest are recycled into industrial material.
Sneaker Impact
Drop off or mail in gently used sneakers through thousands of collection points nationwide. Wearable pairs are resold at low cost abroad, and the rest are recycled.
Reuse & New Shoe Programs
Soles4Souls
Distributes gently worn shoes to families in need across the US, including through Title I school partnerships, and to communities worldwide. Drop off at DSW stores or ship directly.
Give Back Track
Equips high school and middle school track and cross country athletes who can't afford spikes or distance shoes, funded by shoe and gear donations.
Girls on the Run Councils
Local councils run seasonal sneaker drives and accept shoe donations directly so every girl is fitted with proper running shoes before her 5K.
